|
Newcastle Brown Ale
(draught)
Newcastle Brown ale pours to a light brown, almost cola-like color with a pock-marked foamy head and a soft malty nose. The palate is smooth and nutty, slightly sweet, with a light cracker-like malt character and a hint of chocolate. The hops are just barely perceptible in the finish. This is a wonderfully delicate beer, and a classic English brown ale. Though not as assertive as American brown ale, which is a maltier, hoppier brew, Newcastle should be appreciated for it’s subtle delicacy. It’s easy to throw loads of hops and malt at a beer and make it a big one. A far truer test of the brewer’s art is to produce a drinkable, subtly flavored delight the likes of this one. |

Samuel Adams Boston Lager
(draught)
Their 100 year
old recipe requires a craft brewing process rarely
used by American brewers in this century. A decoction
mash, utilizing a time-consuming four vessel brewing
process traditional in Germany, draws the sweetness
from the malts. Today, the amber lager named after
Samuel Adams caters to the exploding demand for
great, fresh, full-bodied American beer. Samuel
would be proud that his namesake lager has stirred
the revival of an all but bygone brewing tradition
- small craft brewing, using only the finest ingredients.

beverages, Coors introduced the popular Coors Light
brand—dubbed the Silver Bullet—which
was destined to become one of the country's best-selling
beers.

Magners Cider
(bottle)
Magners is the
new name for Bulmers cider, famous for many years
in Ireland. The name change coincides with its launch
on the international market.

excited to know that they can now get Magners

a little trouble and I live in N. Ireland.
Best served well chilled Magners has a very fruity
taste, with a perfect blend between bitterness
and sweetness. It therefore is neither sickly
sweet or very dry and hard. It has a soft effervesence,
a slight woodiness obviously because of the oak
vats. It is extremely refreshing and very easy
to drink,(sometimes too easy) with a natural unique
taste. |
